The vibrant village of Port Sanilac is filled with activities and fun throughout the year, but our summer season really shines!

Beginning on Memorial Day weekend you will be able to shop at the Farmers’ Market every Friday from 2 pm to 7 pm through October 15th.  Here you will find locally grown produce and plants, along with unique handcrafted items.  Stop by on your way to cabin or campground to pick up some goodies for your weekend.

Fireworks over Lake Huron as seen from Harbor ParkJune 26 marks the beginning of our summer concert series, Music at the Harbor.  Every Saturday night through Labor Day come to Harbor Park for a free concert.  Be sure to get a hotdog or popcorn from the Lions Club!

This year our Independence Day celebrations start on Saturday, July 3rd.  These include the annual 4th of July parade followed by a chicken dinner in the park or strawberry social at the Methodist church.  And don’t miss the children’s concert in the park immediately following the parade.  This year children will be invited to join the concert with interactive drumming.  The evening of the 4th brings a dinner social at the Lutheran church followed by Music at the Harbor and finally the fireworks.  Port Sanilac offers the finest fireworks in the Thumb.  With wonderful vistas all along the shoreline, it’s hard to find a bad seat.  The fireworks are launched from the North breakwall out over the lake and seem so close that you could touch them!

The Community Auction and Antique Fair is Saturday, July 10.  Shop for interesting antiques, get appraisals for your own treasures, and participate in a Community Auction with the proceeds of donated items going to support other events throughout the year.

The fourth weekend of July brings the Bark Shanty Festival and all of its exciting activities.  From shanty races to 5K races, from talent shows to live entertainment, and from childrens’ games to carnival adventure rides, the Bark Shanty Festival offers something for the entire family!

The first full weekend of August (Aug 7-8) brings the Civil War Days to town.  This festival brings to life the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of Civil War era United States.  With re-enactments of great battles and great speeches, and historical presentations on ladies underwear and on the underground railroad this event is sure to be educational and enjoyable.  Bring the family out to learn a little about our history and have a great time doing it.

August 13-15 participate in the Antique Yard Sale Trail.  From Sebewaing in the north to Marine City in the south the Antique Yard Sale Trail is the place to be for bargain hunters and antique collectors.  The Farmers' Market will also be hosting their annual BBQ fundraiser on Friday evening.
